This module provides to the user the exclusive opportunity to dispose of a huge data base of sport-shooting competitions. Actually it includes all important contests as from 1989 and the base is constantly up-dated.For the purpose of training as well as for the strategy's elaboration, the necessity of a precise analysis of the sporting and technical achievements is indisputable. In the first place, the optimization of the training process can not be achieved without determining the level and tendencies existing in the different weapons and events, the number of countries creating top-class competitors, the domination of one school over another etc. From a purely strategic point of view the precise analysis of the competitor's results in sport shooting both in international and domestic contests during a prolonged period of time could enable the training staff and experts to get a clear vision as to which exercises and weapons are more prospective in terms of development and in which the contestants could be competitive with the best shooters all-round the world, naturally on the ground of a theoretically based and creative training process.
MODE OF USE
The system is started by clicking on the BEGIN button. The following rules should be observed for the correct and safe functioning:
1. Choice of events. The choice of competitions could be made in two ways - manually or automatically by setting certain parameters. In case of manual choice the button ''List of competitions'' should be clicked first as to display the list of contests. By means of the key-board or by clicking the mouse the user may choose the competition of interest. The initial click marks the competition and the repeated one cancels the choice. For the automated choice it is necessary to set the initial parameters. They are of 3 types:
A. Time-connected
B. Characteristic of the weapon - /air or small-bore/
C. Characteristic of the competition
To define the time-connected characteristics it is necessary to click the YEARS AND MONTHS button.
The choice is made by clicking on the respective month and year. The repeated click deactivates the choice. The double-clicking activates/deactivates the whole period. The characteristic of the weapon is determined trough the KIND OF AMMUNITION button from the left menue. The button COMPETITIONS gives an opportunity for more detailed selection of events according to the users' preferences.
A large set of competitions has been provided so as to considerably facilitate the users' work.
2. Parameters of the selection. The selection is defined by means of the menue on the left side of the screen. It has the following main characteristics:
A. Events - this function selects the types of weapon and the sport event;
B. Age - determines the age group;
C. Competitions - this function selects the kind of contest is selected;
D. Kind of ammunitions - the user selects the type of weapon - air or small-bore;
E. Name and country (team) - this function enables the user to choose from the basis only the selected competitors or teams. It is not always necessary to write the whole text, sometimes even part of it will be enough, for example: Vikt instead of Viktoria.
This facility has been incorporated for easy reference since the names of the competitors in the different events are not spelt in one and the same way. Besides the system provides for simultaneous search of several names, states or teams. For that purpose the single names should be detached, with comas but no space between them, for example: Viktoria,Kristina,Alena.
F. Results and places - quite useful function, enabling the user to pick out of the basis competitors corresponding to defined requirements as regards the results and position in descending order, for example.: all competitors at pneumatic gun with results from 400 to 395, ranked from 1 to 11 place.
G. Statistics on/off - this function determines the type of information presented: you can see the information about each contestant of the chosen selection or you can see statistical analysis of the results of the chosen selection.
Nota bene: together with the buttons there are drop-down menus with identical functions
The information is shown by pressing the START button.The data are displayed in an information window, furnished with the following set of buttons duplicated with drop-down menus:
Print preview - for presentation of information in a print mode;
Text box - for editing and processing of the text information;
Help - presents auxiliary information on the system;
Fonts - intended for change of fonts of the buttons, panels and text boxes used by the system;
Graph - presentation of the data in graphic mode;
Rating - arrangement of the data in descending order.
